۵/۵ یکی از متفاوت ترین کتابایی بود که تا به حال خوندم. به شدت هیجان انگیز و مرموز و پر از اتفاق. منم مثل شخصیتای توی داستان واقعا میخواستم داستان زندگی اولین هیوگو رو بدونم و برام خیلی جذاب بود. کلا شخصیت پردازی عالی ای داشت، زن هایی که تمام تلاششون رو برای رسیدن به موفقیت و چیزی که میخوان می کنن، که تمام دنیا رو فریب میدن تا فقط با هم باشم چون از حرف و قضاوت مردم میترسن و در عین حال نمیخوان هر چیزی که بدست آوردن رو از دست بدن و این خودش یه نوع قدرت و شجاعت محسوب میشه. اینکه حاضر بشی برای خانواده ات دست به هرکاری بزنی و از انجامش پشیمون نشی. فقط دلم میخواست بعضی قسمتا رو با جزئیات و اتفاقات بیشتری بخونم، مثلا درباره مونیک اگه بیشتر میدونستم خیلی بهتر میشد و یه سری مسائل دیگه. در کل الان میفهمم چرا همه انقدر از این کتاب تعریف میکنن و منم کاملا باهاشون هم نظرم، به معنای واقعی عالی بود‌.

3.5 Started out strong, ended on a very low point. Full review to come. --------------------------- God, I had such high hopes for this book. The story of Evelyn Hugo is a familiar story to every woman who's ever tried to work, study or simply exist in a male oriented society. Taylor Jenkins' words simultaneously speak to you and make you feel heard, especially in the first half of the book. She explores the themes of identity change, women in workplace, the male gaze, toxic relationships, LGBTQ+ challenges and the atmosphere of Hollywood in 50s! Now add a lot of drama and celebrity gossip and you have this book! It started great, went on to be even greater and more unputdowbable, but in the end, the author made some decisions about the characters and their stories that simply did not make sense to me. And what bothered me the most was Monique's underdeveloped storyline that ultimately felt like it was there just to serve as a "twist" at the end. I love it when authors try to write 2 or more stories in the span of one book, but not everyone of them can pull it off, including Taylor Jenkins Reid. The story of 7 husbands of Evelyn Hugo didn't turn out what I wanted it to be, but at the end I'm glad I read it and I for sure will try Taylor Jenkins Reid again.

One of the most well written books of all time,it was written perfectly.it describe the vibe precisely. The only thing that I didn't liked was Evelyn personality(work ethic),I mean she dose lots of thing but mostly wrong, from the beginning,it might be because the fact that she hadn't a mother growing up and his father was a complete asshole so she didnt have a good rule model...at the end she wasnt a good person.but sth was really good about her, how confident she was and how she make sure she get wat she wants. the book idea was solid 8,but the writing was 10.it was perfect.the story was kinda sad but the kind of sadness that ages so you can't completely call it sadness.
