                What a shocking story. It was the first story that I read in 2022 and I think it was great to start. (Spoiler alert)

The story was about a ceremony in a village. Villagers gather somewhere and do the lottery to choose someone to victim him or her to ward off evils and calamities. At first, It seems we read about a celebration, the people are happy and everything seems ok. But in the end, we were shocked with a horrible ending. One person is stoned.
The lottery represents any action, behavior, or idea that is passed down from one generation to the next that's accepted and followed unquestioningly, no matter how illogical, bizarre, or cruel.
