I went into this book thinking I know all the characters and everything about the plot, and I just will be provided with some answers explaining the plot-holes in the movie adaptation.

And boy was I wrong!!

The book is completely different from Miyazaki's brilliant adaptation. The characters are more extreme and with a lot more depth and backstory, it lacks the anti-war perspective of the movie, it's a lot more funny and whimsical and in spite of having a lot of adventurous stories, it's more peaceful and soothing. But it doesn't make it less extraordinary and delightful than the movie.
You can easily fall in love with the new Howl and Sophie and Micheal and get drawn into their fascinating day to day life in the castle.

I haven't had the best chance in picking up books that are tasteful to me in the past few months but without any doubt Howl's Moving Castle made up for all of those book! It was like a warm cup of milk and honey and I can see myself in the future coming back to it again and again when life gets too frustrating.
