How terrible, to navigate the world without a story to comfort you. 3.5/5 I have mixed feelings about this one... On one hand, It was interesting to read. Ava Reid did a magnificent job by writing someone like Effy's POV and showing her character and vulnerabilities. Her writing was the reason I found this story enjoyable to read but the plot was ALL OVER THE PLACE!! half of the book I had no clue what was happening or what part of the story is important, and I ended up missing so many clues... I kinda wanna say the book was somewhat lifeless? and yet it was the perfect way to describe Effy herself.so.... there were no fairies, no magic, and the world was just ordinary and cruel. Honestly, I really didn't like how the fantasy part was unfolded. It was abrupt with no explanation. There it was suddenly the fairy king in the middle of the story, and just as sudden, he was gone! I was just getting used to the fact that everything was in her mind, and it was due to her mental illness. Of course, I enjoyed the rest of the fairy story and THE LAST LINE! Took me a while to find out about the bonus chapter from Preston's POV and connect the dots, but it was such a good way to wrap it up!
