Just Kids
This was one those classic cases of expectations doesn't meet the reality. The book was incredibly hyped for me by different people, all with great taste and as a result I expected the greatest love story ever told! (or at least something in that line)

I really wanted and thought I was gonna read about Patti and Robert's relationship/friendship but the more I progressed through the book the more it felt like a snap shot of the people's lives, the vibes and the art scene of the 70s. And because I really couldn't connect with her writing style, the way she jumped from telling a story about one of her paintings to another totally random story out of the blue, I couldn't even enjoy the book for that!

This book isn't for everybody, certainly not someone who like me wants to enjoy reading about a pure, magical relationship because there's too little of it in Just Kids, but I would definitely urge you to read this if you're mesmerised by the atmosphere that New York in the 70s had.
