        Everything was boring. Everything was fine 

The first part was exactly like this quote. Building characters and let the reader get familiarized with them and their world.
 But the second half was soooo good! And the plot twists were amazing! Holly Black mixed a young adult theme with darker themes really well.
Also, I loved the fact the Jude is the one doing all the dirty works such as spying, murdering and betrayals while the worst thing Carden did was being a bully, and he is the actual lighter character.
And the cliffhanger had me hooked!

So why 4 stars?
I think most of the book relied on plot twits and intense scenes. The side stories didn't have anything to offer to me, TBH. And their problems are too teenagers problems and drama(in their defense, they ARE teenagers) but much crueler.
And there was so little novelty about the character and their background....

but even with all of that, I still really enjoyed this book, even if being 24 is a bit late to read it!
