Pride and Prejudice was always a beloved book of mine. And actually the first classic that I've ever loved. So naturally throughout the years I've done a lot of re-reads and a lot more re-watches of this phenomenal.
But this time I started reading it after being heavily influenced by "A Room of One's Own". And let me tell you that it was like reading a different book. It wasn't about the love story for me anymore but something bigger and greater than that. Jane Austen wrote about characters and circumstances that in reality COULD NOT possibly exist given the society of that time. The two main love interests of the story were not in love at first sight, or worse, weren't getting married just to fulfill the responsibilites of a good man or a woman. They got to know each other throughout the book and then decided (NOT FORCED!) to get married and that is why this book was so much more loved by me this time.
I so badly want to give this a 5 star but I couldn't help being bothered by some useless characters in the book, like Mary who literally had 10 sentences throughout the whole thing. Sorry Jane.
