        I always prefer to start my reviews with a general picture of the plot. In this case, there is no plot. Nothing happens in the first two-thirds of the book, and nothing unpredictable or even a tiny bit interesting happens after that. The main character is a disgustingly annoying, unrelatable piece of pick-me trash, and the rest are as by all means stereotypical as you can imagine.
Still, the first book in a series is always way worse than the rest, so I don't blame this failure on the Grishaverse as a whole. I really hope it makes up for this one.
