This edition is the standard Random House/Bodley Head text that first appeared in 1960.

هرکس که کتاب اولیس جیمز جویس را خوانده باشد، می‌فهمد چه خبر است. بلومزدی یعنی یک روز از زندگی بولم، تبلیغات‌چی پخش آگهی‌های تجارتی یک روزنامه که جویس در 735 صفحه می‌گویدش. به قلم مریم برادران، هفته‌نامه‌ی همشهری جوان، شماره‌ی 3، 19 دی 1383.

داستانی عجیب و فوق العاده که مطالب غیرمهم را با چنین جزئیاتی بیان میکند که خواننده از این حجم از تصویرسازی متحیر میماند! اصل این کتاب به صورت یک رمان یک جلدی منتشر شده بود که در ایران به دلایلی (از جمله سانسور) این کتاب قرار بود به صورت 6 جلد جداگانه چاپ شود، تا اونجایی که من اطلاع دارم ترجمه جلد سوم نیز تمام شده بود ولی وزارت فرهنگ و ارشاد اجازه چاپ جلد 3 رو نداده (به دلیل اینکه جلد 4 توش مواردی هست که نمیشه چاپش کرد و به همین خاطر جلد 3 رو هم اجازه نمیدن!!!) تمامی اتفاقات این داستان در طول یک روز رقم میخورند ولی این یک روز الان بیش از سه ساله که به طول انجامیده و معلوم نیست که چقدر دیگر به طول بیانجامد...
