My heart literally sings like a bird when I encounter men from some years ago that write so delicately and in a considerable manner about women and Ibsen is one of those men.

In this ground breaking play he criticises the role of women in society and in marriage, the way they're treated by their husband and other men supposing that they're incapable of having a mind and personality of their own, and finally he challenges the law of the time and its effect on both men and women.

I do have problems however with his character building and the second act of the play but all in all reading A Doll's House was an enjoyable and feel good experience that satisfied the feminist in me.
