                کتاب مجموعه چند یادداشت از نویسنده است. در ابتدا مختصری از دوران کودکیش و نوجوانی و جوانیش که در اردوگاه های نازی ها و بعد در شرایط خفقان تحت حکومت شوروی سوسیالیست گذشت می‌گوید که واقعا زیبا، تکان دهنده و دقیق و با جزئیات خوبی نوشته شده
در ادامه از نقش فرهنگ و نویسندگان و بطور کلی اهالی فرهنگ در شهر پراگ و تغییر و تحولات سیاسی اجتماعی کشور چک می‌گوید
در کل یک کتاب با رویکرد فرهنگ و اثرات آن بر جامعه پراگ و چک می‌باشد

The book is a collection of several notes by the author. First, a brief account of his childhood, adolescence, and youth, spent in Nazi concentration camps and then under suffocating conditions under the Soviet Socialist regime, The notes are really beautiful, shocking, accurate, and well-written.
He goes on to talk about the role of culture and writers, and the people of culture in general in Prague, and the changes in the country's socio-political situation.
In general, it is a book with a cultural approach and its effects on Prague and Czech society
