The Witch's Boy
“The sea meant I love you.
The sea meant I will one day return.
The sea meant I must find the world and hold the world and live in the world. And I must love the world. And love it and love it and love it. As much as I love you.”

Pages : 371 -372

A story about the extreme power of words. A feminine story with lots of female characters : banditwomen, soldierwomen, fisherwomen, councilwomen, witches, a smart queen, and above all, Áine a heroine who is a tough girl and in some points more outstanding than Ned, who is the main character. … (even Áine’s pragmatic goats are female! :)) )

The main theme is friendship. The other themes to mention are motherhood; ignorance; death; loss and grief.
