This was my first book in English about Islamic philosophy and I should say that it was a great experience reading a familiar idea from a different perspective; the perspective which is brought by the terms and order of thing coming in the book. This different perspective is highlighted when you have a comparative reading of the book with the Persian translation and there’s where you find that you are somehow reading two different books in two different worlds. This was exciting because there’s a broad terminology of Islamic philosophy in Persian that although Izutsu has tried to mean them in English, the book has finally made his own meaning due to the limitation and possibilities of the language.  
This made the reading a completely unique experience; some thing that I would like to retry after, focusing  on the book about Islamic philosophy that are not from a sympathetic prespective.
