When the 14 year old me first read this book 6 years ago, she was completely mesmerized by it. I absolutely adored their relationship and I thought their love was so pure and innocent. And that is the exact reason for why this book is so harmful. Stephanie Meyer might not be good at describing scenes and characters and writing action but she sure as hell is good at taking an abusive, instant-love, hollow relationship and making it to something desirable. Edward is emotionally manipulative, almost always angry, jealous, possessive and over protective. Bella is the most basic, shallow, rude, inconsiderate, pathetic and idiot human being ever. She has no goals in life other than finding out what Edward really is and after that in the series, desperately trying to be loved by him and eventually becoming like him. Her whole life revolves around him and no other single soul matters to her. Not even her own father. It's like she really has no personality. And the worst part of all this is that the 14 year old Rozhan didn't see all these red flags and only focused on the "Love" aspect of the story and so, she desperately wanted to be like Bella. Bella and Edward are the worst roll models and this book doesn't deserve to be published as a "YA"!
