Given how the previous book in the series ended, I went to this squeal expecting a lot more. And yes Maggie Steifvater still throws in a lot of information and confusing plot points but they're so all over the place and scattered through the book that you can't make much sense of them. So basically 50 percent of the time I was like "Huh?" and the other 50 percent I was bored with the anticlimactic plot.
We get to know some new characters in this book but she doesn't give much of a back story to them so again I felt detached from them.
But with that being said, Ronan's back story, Maggie's magical writing, romantic scenes, that ending, and all the residents of 300 Fox Way made this book still a memorable read of 2020 for me.
Can't wait to continue this series!!!
