The final instalment of The Raven Cycle completely ruined every hope and dream I had for this series to become a new favourite of mine

Call me what you will, but I don't think expecting the final book to be action-packed from maybe the first 30% of the book is unreasonable.

But noooooo, everything was fine until the last 100 or so pages of the book. In fact, it was so fine that our characters went to Gansey's Mansion and had a lovely time accompanied by exquisite English tea!

Which leads me to my next point: Emotional or action scenes had absolutely no effect on me because of the atmosphere of "everything- is-fine-it's-no-big-deal-that-we-have-a-fucking-Demon-on-the-loose-we-can-deal-with-that-after-i-had-my-afternoon-tea" that Maggie created! Instead, she again introduced us to countless absolutely pointless characters and an additional "supposedly" main character. And that's no way of dealing with shit IN THE LAST BOOK OF A SERIES !!!!!!!

But let me get to the part that irritated me the most:

Look, I'm totally on board with the idea that somethings have to be left to the imagination of the reader but you see, the keyword here is "somethings"!!!! Not every god-damn plot point that you beautifully crafted and made us expect an epic answer to all of our questions! And definitely not the lives of almost every character that we got attached to throughout the whole series!

Do I sound angry? good, because I am and it makes it so hard to properly talk about how much I love Maggie's magical writing, Adam Parrish's character development, friendships, and all the residents of 300 Fox Way including Mr Gray.

The whole series, despite what I initially expected turned out to be an average (3.5) read for me and something I don't see myself re-reading in the future. And as the characters are the best thing about it, I don't recommend this series to you if you're someone like me who looks for smart plots.
